Hot Lava, a pop band from Richmond, VA,  features Allison Apperson  vocals, guitar), Matt Deans (keys, vocals), John Sizemore (lead guitar), Brian Wiltz (drums), and Gabe Lopez (bass, vocals). Formed as an art school experiment, their catchy sound quickly gained traction, leading to their acclaimed 2008 debut Lavalogy on Bar/None Records.

Now they’re back with Queen of Fools-a deeply personal album born from Allison’s own life reset: getting divorced, coming out, and walking away from a “dream job”. The result is a collection of reflective pop songs with sharp hooks and honest lyrics about starting over and becoming who you really are.
